What kind of game is this?

  • This game will be a weekly one-shot adventure, run in the 2014 5e Dungeons & Dragons rule set.

  • Each week will see a group of adventurers delve into a new dungeon.

  • Each session is a standalone adventure

What’s the style/tone of the game?

  • The Pennyknights is a “save-or-die”, funhouse dungeon style game. Expect deadly traps, bizarre cursed items, and monsters too dangerous to fight head-on.

  • This game will focus on problem-solving more heavily than roleplaying, but elements of both will be present.

Can I bring my own character?

  • You are welcome to bring your own premade 5th level character, but be aware:

    MOST PLAYERS WILL LOSE SEVERAL CHARACTERS OVER THE COURSE OF A SESSION.

    DO NOT BRING A CHARACTER YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE PERISH.

  • The DM will have several premade characters for players.

  • If your character falls during your session, you will simply select a new one and rejoin the group.

What if I’ve never played before?

  • No problem at all! This is light-hearted game and we will have rules on hand for all players.

  • Your DM (Dungeon Master) has plenty of experience guiding new players.

  • The Pennyknights! is a game of mishap an misadventure, we will prioritize fun over rules every time.

This sounds fun! Anything else I should know?

  • As mentioned, this is a light-hearted game. Bring a good attitude and respect for your players and DM.

  • Since this is a funhouse dungeon game, be prepared to fail. If you’re a sore loser, you probably won’t enjoy this game.

  • This is an inclusive, LGBTQIA+ friendly space and game. Don’t leave your prejudices at the door, stay out there with them.
